Who We Are

The Freemasons are the world's oldest and most respected fraternal organization. Rooted in centuries of tradition, we exist not to rule the world—but to master the self. We are a society of men committed to moral and spiritual excellence, personal development, and charitable service.

Our teachings are veiled in allegory and illustrated through ancient symbols. Though our methods are private, our values are public: brotherhood, truth, justice, and the pursuit of enlightenment.

We welcome seekers from all walks of life who are ready to walk the ancient path of self-discovery. Our legacy stretches across history, with members who shaped revolutions, influenced governments, and built civilizations—not through power, but through principle. Learn more

History in Brief

The exact origins of Freemasonry remain shrouded in mystery, but its symbolic and philosophical lineage can be traced back to the builders of the Egyptian pyramids, the craftsmen of Solomon’s Temple, and the stonemason guilds of medieval Europe.

The modern Freemason movement officially began in 1717 with the formation of the first Grand Lodge in London. Since then, it has grown into a global brotherhood spanning nearly every continent and culture.

From the Founding Fathers of the United States to artists like Mozart and scientists like Sir Isaac Newton, many influential men were Freemasons. Each carried forward the timeless mission of self-mastery, enlightenment, and service.

Our Purpose & Vision

The purpose of Freemasonry is to awaken the soul, refine the character, and build men of virtue. It is not a religion, nor a political group—it is a sacred journey of self-mastery, brotherhood, and enlightened service to humanity.

We believe that by cultivating inner light, a man becomes a better husband, father, leader, and citizen. Through timeless rituals and teachings passed from generation to generation, Freemasonry instills a framework for living with dignity, purpose, and compassion.

Our vision is of a global brotherhood where men uphold truth, justice, and charity above all else. We envision a world where leaders rise not through greed or power, but through wisdom, service, and personal integrity.

In a time when the world often forgets what matters most, Freemasonry stands as a living reminder: that the greatest work a man can undertake is the shaping of his own soul.

Core Values of Freemasonry

Freemasonry is built upon timeless principles that inspire transformation and ethical living. These core values shape the life of every Mason and echo through every lodge, ritual, and handshake.

🔷 Brotherly Love

We honor human dignity and cultivate a deep bond of respect and fellowship among men of all backgrounds.

⚖ Truth

Truth is central to the Masonic journey. A Mason lives by it, speaks it, and seeks it—inwardly and outwardly.

❤ Charity

A Mason extends his hand to those in need, embodying compassion and service through quiet, consistent acts of kindness.

🧭 Integrity

Honor, honesty, and moral courage form the foundation of a Mason's daily walk, even when no one is watching.

Myths and Misconceptions

Freemasonry has long been a subject of curiosity, speculation, and myth. Due to its privacy, symbolism, and influential members, countless stories have emerged—many of which are entirely false or misunderstood.

❌ Myth: Freemasons Control the World

While many Masons have held powerful positions, Freemasonry does not control governments or economies. It is a fraternity focused on self-improvement, not world domination.

❌ Myth: Freemasonry is a Religion

Freemasonry is not a religion and does not offer salvation. It welcomes men of all faiths who believe in a Supreme Being and encourages them to remain committed to their personal religious beliefs.

❌ Myth: Masons Practice Dark Magic

Masonic rituals are symbolic and moral—not magical. They are designed to teach philosophical truths and ethical lessons using allegory and ancient tools.

❌ Myth: Freemasonry is a Secret Society

Freemasonry is a society with secrets—not a secret society. Lodges meet publicly, and members are often proudly open about their affiliation. What remains private are the rituals, handshakes, and deeper meanings.

How to Join Freemasonry

Joining Freemasonry is a personal decision—one rooted in your desire to grow, serve, and become a man of deeper wisdom and purpose. Freemasonry does not recruit. Instead, we await those who feel a sincere calling and are willing to take the first step.

Step 1: Ask

Freemasonry requires that you come of your own free will. You must ask to join—this is known as “seeking light.” No one will pressure or invite you. The journey begins when you choose to begin it.

Step 2: Speak to a Mason

If you know a Freemason, approach him and express your interest. If not, you can contact your local lodge or use our application form to connect with a representative.

Step 3: Formal Application

You’ll be asked to submit an application that includes personal details, references, and a statement of why you wish to join. Integrity, honesty, and a belief in a Supreme Being are essential.

Step 4: Interview & Background Review

Members of the lodge will meet with you to understand your intentions, character, and sincerity. A basic background check may also be performed for ethical alignment.

Step 5: Lodge Ballot

If all goes well, your petition will be voted on by members of the lodge. Acceptance must be unanimous or near-unanimous depending on jurisdiction.

Step 6: Initiation

If approved, you will be welcomed as an Entered Apprentice and undergo a ceremonial initiation—a symbolic beginning to your Masonic journey.

Important: You must be of lawful age (usually 21+), believe in a Supreme Being, and be of sound moral character. Freemasonry welcomes men of all races, religions, and social classes.

✔ Age

You must be of lawful age—typically 21 or older (18 in some jurisdictions). This ensures emotional maturity and life experience.

✔ Belief in a Supreme Being

Freemasonry is open to men of all religions, but belief in a Supreme Being is essential. Freemasonry is spiritual, not religious.
